CPCU.. Is it Worth ?

Is the CPCU certification really worth?
I am planning to take this one in the near future. I need advice on whether it is really worth and will it give a promising career in P&C.
Also I want to know on whether it is recognised outside USA.

The CPCU Society is working at making this a worldwide recognition, with chapters in Japan, Korea, Europe, as well as 150+ chapters in the United States. I am always happy to help those working toward this worthwhile professional designation.
